How to identify termites

Workers are creamy white, soft-bodied, about 1/4 inch long. Soldiers have enlarged brown heads with prominent mandibles. Swarmers are dark brown to black, about 3/8 inch with wings, emerging in spring. Mud tubes (pencil-width) on foundations are the most common visible sign.
